May Favorites

May has been a very interesting month for me because it was filled with so much to do in a very short amount of time. I have decided to take a big risk and pack up all my shoes, makeup, and my cutest outfits and go to New York. I have always been a realist but I still have a fairy tale-like mindset that brings out the little girl in me. I have dreamed about moving to a big city since I was a teenager and I am finally pursuing this dream and moving into my first apartment in Brooklyn. Almost everyone I have recently talked to about moving usually gives me a blank stare when I tell them I'm moving to one of the most expensive and chaotic cities in the world without a job and I always spread a smile and I say "I've just always wanted to go." Although wanting something isn't always a good enough reason I believe I will be able to make it in the city because I always drive to get things done and I want to be successful and proud to prove people wrong who doubted me in the past. I am very excited about my future and will bring everyone along the ride with me. This leads me to my favorite products, brands, and things that brought me joy this month that I discovered this month.

Watching the sunset never gets old and I am really going to miss the most beautiful skies I have ever laid eyes on and that I fully experienced in Arizona. No other sunsets have come close to the colors in the sky in the desert.

I have been really enjoying Ramen lately because it is delicious, easy to eat, and relatively inexpensive for a meal. I have found a great new place that has the best broth and perfect sized portion of ramen I have ever experienced. The restaurant is called Ten-Ichi Ramen located in Park Slope. I also love this place because it is very close to my new apartment. Just be prepared to pay with cash or you can use their ATM inside.

I have been dying to visit more museums and events now that I am completely surrounded by the best entertainment in the world. I plan to regularly attend at least one event every weekend. This weekend I will be visiting the Brooklyn Flea Market. It is a very interesting place with new vendors every weekend for a few months out of the year.

I have recently started drinking a lot more wine mostly because I like trying new wines and with the liquor laws in New York it is harder to get your hands on good cheap wine so I have been testing out a new wine at every liquor/wine store I come across. I have also been documenting the wine I try with this cool app called Vivino where you can document each wine you try, rate the wine, and add friends and family. I love this app because I finally have a way to see which wines I have been interested in the past and which ones to avoid.
