Plant based diets dominated by the lives of real world athletes.
The 2018 Netflix movie, The Game Changers is setting records with some of the best athletes. It explores the concept of the plant-based diet while competing for Olympic medals and breaking Guinness World Records.
The film discusses the questions that most people would ask being on a plant-based diet. Such as, “Do vegans get enough protein?” Many athletes claim to get plenty of protein in their meals from unprocessed carbohydrates like oatmeal and sweet potatoes.
Studies were also conducted
on the effects of your blood results being clearer than foggy blood streams from
those of meat eaters. Firefighters lost
weight and had better cholesterol levels after just 2 weeks of plant based
eating.
It is interesting to witness the lives of many intense
athletes who describe themselves as having increased energy and more focus on a
plant-based diet. Is this the new secret to longevity and your well-being?
Personally I have tried to go vegan or vegetarian and although I consume many foods that are plant-based I enjoy occasional animal products. I recently tested out this diet myself and found that I quickly realized it wasn't sustainable or applicable for my budget. I also discovered that I enjoy plant-based foods and a majority of my meals don't include animal products anyway. I believe in balance and that is how I would describe my choices when it comes to the type of diet I have.
